Looking To Marry A Russian Woman?

Because of the known fact that Russian women are slender, beautiful, feminine and intelligent, western men are looking for those characteristics in them as in future life partners.

Some men are looking to marry Russian women who are much younger than themselves – men are attracted to younger women. But apart from this fact, Russian women do not mind marrying older men for their own reasons.

If you are surprised by this fact, there is an explanation. Russian women are desperate to get married – they do not want to be called «old maids» – an expression attributed to unmarried women who have reached 24 years of age. After turning 24, women have fewer chances to get married – there are simply not enough men in Russia. Women are eager to have children during their best childbearing age and they want to use their chance to find a man while they are still young.

Usually if a woman does not get married soon enough after turning 18 , she will have slimmer chances to find a man in her own country, who does not drink and has family values. Unlike Russian, western women are looking forward establishing career first, and then creating a family. This tendency is explained by the differences in cultural background and the lifestyle.

Getting back to the fact that many western men are looking for younger women, those marriages may look fair to men but it may not be fair enough for younger women who desire to have children.

Western man expects from marrying a Russian woman that she will keep her cultural qualities after moving to a new country.

If a man expects that indefinitely, he is much likely to be disappointed. Russian women will remain «Russian» only if they stay in their own culture, maintaining their own lifestyle, »hanging out» with their own kind, approved and accepted by their own society standards.

In a few years after residing in a new country Russian women will have to adapt to it to survive and that means change. In order for a Russian wife to be «Russian» she must be among her own kind, thus said she will have to socialize with Russian friends, keep up with Russian media, visit her parents and etc.

If a man decides to find a Russian wife, he is up for a challenge and for a rewarding experience, if he is willing to adapt to cultural differences.

In order to have a successful marriage, eastern guys need to get prepared by reading about Russian culture, Russian women and history so they can better understand where those women are coming from. Only then men can make an informed decision as if to proceed with a search of a Russian Bride or not.

I had a dream last night that i was at my russian boyfriend’s house for the first time, and his mom started yelling all kinds of names at me, pushed me out of the house and yelled «thats why i hate american girls!» so now im terrified of meeting her. My boyfriend has mentioned that in his culture, you usually dont date unless your looking for a wife. we’ve been together for quite some time now, and i havent met his parents. My question is, are russian women typically unwelcoming when it comes to americans being in the family?

Obviously us Russian women are all individualistic.
But typically? I would say no. I doubt you have anything to worry about. It was just a dream.

Culture-wise the mother is suppose to be there for the children, no matter what and not be a burden. The mothers job is to teach her children to be independent and responsible for their own decisions, deeds and actions.

My mother doesn’t care that my finance is from Ghana, Africa. Why would that matter? She would care and be worried if he wasn’t a good man, wherever he was from.

And she would be happy if he was a good man and I loved him, wherever he was from.
As for me, I don’t care where anyone was born.

Ahh, and it is true that a lot of the older generation do think that «dating» is only and just a step towards marriage.

It is a little bit embarrassing.
